Wick Tournament

Sat 11th & Sun 12th June 2016

Wick is Bristol VC's annual outdoor summer tournament, which has one of the best tournament parties in the country (we would say THE best!).

This year Bristol VC is celebrating its 30th anniversary, so to honour the year was founded, this year's theme is 1986.

As its the club's anniversay, we intend to make the party bigger and better than ever!

Tournament Format

Games are played outdoors on grass. Bristol & District mixed wildcard league rules are used meaning teams must be 6-a-side and contain at least 3 'wildcards' (u17 />O50/Ladies). Results from the Saturday will determine which divisions teams will compete in on the Sunday.

Venue

The tournament is held at Wick Sports Ground, just a few miles outside of bristol, in a superb countryside location (please note that this means there are not many facilties such as hotels and restaurants near to the tournament venue). There is a clubhouse and changing facilities onsite, along with plenty of space for (free) camping. Car parking is limited, so please car-share where possible. There will also be the tournament marquee, where the party and bar will be late into the night.

Party

The tournament prides itself on its party. This year DJ Dimi K will return on decks into the wee hours accompanied by DJ Marilia Makri. As it's the club's 30th anniversary there will also be live music. Everything is based around the tournament marquee, so if the weather is good you can relax out on the field with your food listening to some good music.

Costs

The Wick tournament is extreamly good value compared to other tournaments at just £80 per team, which includes camping, parking, and of course, the party!

Food

The usual large communal BBQs will be available for you to cook on after Saturday's matches. Hot food (inc. breakfast on Sunday morning) and snacks will also be on sale at the bar, and there will be a cake and fruit stall open all weekend.

Drinks

The tournament bar will be open all weekend serving a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Please support our club and purchase your drinks from our bar. If we lose money then the future of the tournament in years to come will be at risk. Prices are extreamly reasonable and all proceeds help fund the tournament!

Theme

To make things a bit more interesting the tournament party is slighly different to other tournaments in that each year there is a different theme. Some people like to play their matches in costume too! Prizes will be awarded for the best outfit.
